I produced the film D-I-N-O - "Despair is not an option" in March 2020 at the time of the first lockdown. I originally sent it to friends and family in a small circle - as a little distraction for everyone - with a wink.
At that time, unusual circumstances in Germany led to bizarre situations: for example, a buying frenzy set in on the otherwise well-stocked pasta shelves and sweeps them empty very quickly. Toilet paper suddenly rose to be the most sought-after product - at times it was only sold on a rationed basis. This is precisely why one of these precious specimens can be seen several times in this film.
I also reused the intro from the original video with my friend Wolfgang "Wolle". Thematically it has nothing to do with the main film and comes from a spontaneous idea: We have been maintaining the beautiful tradition of an evening only for men for a long time. In the first part, a visit to the Greek restaurant is on the program. This is followed by a film marathon in Wolle's home cinema theater. So you see him performing in front of his video wall at the beginning ...
About the main film: The recordings are from my homeland, Saxon Switzerland. A beautiful piece of earth, east of Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony. More visitors come here every year. It is a little El Dorado for climbers and hikers.
Today there should be an ascent into the rock for you, where you shouldn't be afraid of the abyss. This via ferrata has the name of a climber from Sebnitz: Rudolf Häntzschel. He built boards and step aids here on his own initiative in the 1960s. Today the Häntzschelstiege has been modernized and is also accessible with climbing equipment. However, it has become even more demanding in the upper part. Over a length of 700 meters, 170 meters in altitude have to be mastered. I like the Häntzschelstiege very much and climb up there several times a year. Many of my friends who accompany me here regularly have also become fans of this via ferrata.
According to information from a local newspaper, more than 100,000 mountain lovers try the ascent every year. Due to the degree of difficulty, however, around 10,000 - almost 10% - break off and do not make it to the top.
Warning: please do not imitate: because I don't use a helmet camera, I climbed up the path for once and with full concentration with the Osmo Mobile 2 Gimbal from DJI and smartphone in my hand.
From the intermediate station, the Carolafelsen, the film comes to an end on the Frienstein and the Ida Grotte. Please do not imitate the dance performance shown there either!
It seems that I was born with a bit of craziness. Take a look at the right one since the cover picture. It shows my father jumping from rock to rock (near the Häntzschelstiege), 4 years before I was born. Any questions?
