The Lilienstein - the most prominent table mountain on the Elbe, the symbol of the Saxon Switzerland National Park can be seen from all directions.
It is located in a fantastic area, criss-crossed by cliffs and gorges, between Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony, and the Czech Republic. This is my home. I have opened my picture archive and will present the popular Lilienstein from different angles at different times of the year. Finally, I will take you to the summit, on the ascent in the snow (February 2021) .

Near my home as the crow flies, the Lilienstein towers majestically above the Elbe valley and is surrounded by the river on three sides. Originally, its name had nothing to do with the flower of the same name, but referred to Saint Ägidius (640-720). Around 1200 there was a Bohemian castle on the plateau of the rock. The Lilienstein fascinated rich and poor alike. Among others, the legendary Saxon prince and King of Poland, August the Strong (1670-1733), climbed this table mountain with his entourage in 1708.

In the 19th century, the Lilienstein was developed for tourism, and the first small mountain inn was opened 150 years ago. Because of the magnificent panorama and the two moderate short ascents (north and south path), it is one of the most visited rocks in Saxon Switzerland. Directly opposite, on the other side of the Elbe, a real giant greets you: the Königstein Fortress - the largest mountain fortress in Europe. I will upload a separate film about it on my channel in 2023.

But Saxon Switzerland has much more to offer besides the two tourist heavyweights mentioned, the Bastei or the Kirnitzschtal. For overnight stays and explorations, small, picturesque holiday villages and towns await your visit. You will be thrilled!

Der Lilienstein - der markanteste Tafelberg an der Elbe und Symbol des Nationalparks Sächsische Schweiz - ist aus allen Himmelsrichtungen zu sehen.
Er befindet sich in einer fantastischer Gegend, die von Felsen und Schluchten durchzogen wird, zwischen Dresden, der Hauptstadt des Freistaates Sachsen und der Tschechischen Republik. Das ist meine Heimat.
In diesem Film möchte ich Euch an der Schönheit dieser Region gern teilhaben lassen. Ich habe dafür mein Bilderarchiv geöffnet und werde den beliebten Lilienstein aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln zu verschiedenen Jahreszeiten etwas näher vorstellen.
Final nehme ich Euch mit auf den Gipfel, beim Aufstieg im Schnee (Februar 2021).

Nur wenige Kilometer von meiner Haustür entfernt, thront der Lilienstein majestätisch über dem Elbtal und wird vom Fluss auf 3 Seiten umflossen. Ursprünglich hatte sein Name nichts mit der gleichnamigen Blume zu tun, sondern bezog sich auf den Heiligen Ägidius (640-720).
Um 1200 gab es auf dem Plateau des Felsens eine böhmische Burg.
Der Lilienstein faszinierte Arm und Reich. So bestieg unter anderem der legendäre Sachsenfürst und König von Polen, August der Starke (1670-1733) im Jahr 1708 gemeinsam mit seinem Gefolge diesen Tafelberg. Im 19. Jahrhundert wurde der Lilienstein touristisch erschlossen, die erste kleine Bergwirtschaft wurde vor 150 Jahren eröffnet.
Aufgrund des grandiosen Panoramas und den beiden moderaten kurzen Aufstiegen ( Nord- und Südweg), ist er einer der meistbesuchten Felsen in der Sächsischen Schweiz.

Direkt gegenüber, auf der anderen Seite der Elbe, grüßt ein wirklicher Gigant: die Festung Königstein- größte Bergfestung Europas. Darüber werde ich 2023 einen separaten Film auf meinem Kanal hochladen.
Die Sächsische Schweiz hat außer den beiden genannten touristischen Schwergewichten, der Bastei oder dem Kirnitzschtal aber noch viel mehr zu bieten.
Für Übernachtungen und Erkundungen warten kleine, malerische Urlauberorte wie zum Beispiel Bad Schandau, Altendorf, Mittelndorf, Lichtenhain, Waltersdorf, Hohnstein, Waitzdorf, Gohrisch, Papstdorf, Cunnersdorf, Pfaffendorf, Königstein, Thürmsdorf, Weißig, Krippen, Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna, Schmilka, Rathen, Wehlen, Saupsdorf oder Hinterhermsdorf auf Euren Besuch.
