There's still one more little spot I have to finish before I can start working on the basement and that's the staircase. I want to go a little wild in here and do a pop of color since the rest of the house is a pretty neutral, so I asked one of my best friends, Trish Andersen, who definitely knows color, to help me out with this. She makes some amazing runners and rugs and legit artwork and some incredible art installations, so I would love nothing more than to have a stair runner of hers in our house. She currently lives in Savannah and I live here, but we were able to work out what I needed to do to get the staircase ready for her stair runner with a good ol’ zoom sesh. We’re half way at this point and I can’t wait for the runners to arrive to finish it off.

A little backstory on me ... I’ve been living and working in NYC for the past eighteen years, but with everything going on in the world 😷 I decided to take a little break from Brooklyn and buy my first home in Milwaukee with my boo. That way he has a place to call home since he already lives here and I'll have a little escape to go to when I have downtime from work. I’m definitely not a carpenter by any means, but I do think I can accomplish what I have planned for this little house. I have big plans, so hopefully you’ll subscribe and join me on this journey of turning this old house into a home.
