Acne is directly linked to diabetes and insulin resistance. People who have diabetes and who suffer with insulin resistance tend to struggle with acne. Acne can be very unpleasant for most people. It can cause insecurity and low self-esteem. For that reason, managing diseases that can make you more prone to acne is very important.

The first connection between diabetes and acne is the inflammatory process between the two. Both acne and diabetes are known to have chronic inflammation, therefore, causing acne formation.

Insulin resistance is also a huge risk factor that can lead to acne formation. Insulin resistance can cause hormonal imbalances, such as increased androgen levels, which can cause more oily skin and thus, lead to acne formation.

In this video, I discuss steps that you can take to prevent acne and or treat acne if you struggle with it. Keeping blood sugar levels under control is very important to the treatment of acne.
