In this video, I return to the question of how to find a good research topic for your paper or dissertation? Where do good ideas come from? These are common questions of early career scholars, even though there is a relatively easy answer to it. And the answer is that you find them by reading other people's scholarship, by getting to know your field better. Because good ideas are contextual, they are good within the context of a particular field. You cannot just write about anything; what you write has to make sense and be valuable from the perspective of the field. You have to make a contribution.
