Today I am in Shanghai and I am meeting with former student Imogen Page-Jarrett, who graduated from our Faculty in Cambridge with a degree in Chinese studies. She has won, more than once, the Michael Loewe Prize for best performance in Classical Chinese. Now, eight years after graduation, she lives and works in China. In fact, she has spent all of her twenties in China and this is the place where she began working as a professional. We talk about why she began studying Chinese initially but then also why she chose to do an MA at Peking University and then remain in China. She also mentions how some of the texts we read in our Classical Chinese classes continue to fascinate her.
