The good news is that after months of downtime, the IDP website is back online again! And it has a new look! It has been completely redesigned and uses a brand new back end structure. This video examines the new search function to see how it compares with the old one, and also the presentation of the manuscript images, which is kind of the bid deal for researchers. I have to say that on both counts the verdict is definitely that the new website beats the old one. The search function is super fast, much faster than before, and allows us to find stuff easier. And the way we can view manuscripts is also significantly better, as we can do this quite comfortably in the Universal Viewer, which is really good. A function that was not part of the old website but is extremely useful is that we can download all images of a manuscript with a single click. In hindsight, this would have been useful before the site went black for a few months. In any case, the new site is great, make sure to check it out!
