This is an extended director's cut of the movie that did not fit in the 7 minute limit for the Boston 48 Hour. Dialog and narration can really lengthen a movie...


Well... I wrote too much of a script,... what happened was... how I wrote the script... ummm... so I knew what the location looked like, you get some ideas when you survey the space on how versatile it can be, and there was a room with all children's stuff... I was thinking we could do a Barney parody in that room and say he ate all the kids or something... It was kinda empty, so I just wanted to use the most interesting places... like the backyard, the pond, the garage (not used)... basement and attic were super cool looking and there was a spot under the barn where we could bury a body...

So I have the location... I have the actors... originally I go with what I know we can do... I go with what I am confident in... like the two main actors were probably going to be the couple but Babs Branson broke her knee a week before... so her and her Olympic athlete boyfriend were out... but they agreed to appear over Zoom because they wanted to be in it... The name "Branson" came about because Mormo/Shane Vozar was appearing from Branson, Missouri via Zoom...

Like... I tried to get some new people, I had like 10 people from the list of volunteers that they have for the Boston 48, and a lot of them don't have their stuff together... asking me what days the festival is on, almost all of them backed out except Kenneth, who, I had no idea about at all or his experience level... but it was just him and Steve...

Steve .... I forget how I got to know him... was it through Wendy Walsh or through the volunteer page? Either way... the first time I met him he was like "I am up for doing anything... except nudity. I refuse to get naked." and I was like... "Why would you think I would want you naked? Or anyone for a 48 Hour Film?" but I kept joking over the years that someday I was going to do some tasteful nudity scene for him and make him feel comfortable and stuff... well... last year there was a huge walk-in shower and I wanted the couple, Ann Marie and Tony Thompson to have a cute little shower scene (shot sorta like how I shot this one)... but the script didn't call for it....

And then this year the house had a small walk in shower so I joked with Steve that I was going to write in a shower scene just for him and he said that it would be fine... so...

There I was... I had a bunch of goals... like... use the most interesting rooms in this empty house, get Steve in the shower, and give all my actors some good lines... I got a little high and just sorta rambled... I made all the names alliterated because Tony Thompson's name is... I think I can do that every year for the 48 Hour Films... they are always like that...

And yea... I just tried to connect all the ideas and I rambled a lot, and just couldn't include everything I wanted... like smashing a bottle over someone's head how I have in most other 48 Hour Films... this one I was struggling to figure out how to get Steve to need to take a shower... like... why was he showering? I struggled with that and then built some of the script off that. I brought those paint cans to their place... I was lucky I brought those because I didn't see much else to use...

Anyway... I am getting bored of typing....
