With a touch of nostalgia and a step into the present, we enter the world of Simson mopeds. For many enthusiasts, they are canvases for creativity and innovation. Among many passionate fans are Carlo Schmid and Sebastian Marten, two engineers with a vision. Their journey began at the TU Berlin, where they were significantly involved in the development of an electric conversion kit for Simson mopeds from the GDR.

Not only the technical finesse, but also the fact that these iconic mopeds are cruising our streets with a 60 km/h approval, not only makes the hearts of Simson fans beat faster.

In a time where resources are becoming scarcer and environmental impact is increasingly coming into focus, Schmid and Marten offer an answer with their concept.

From buzzing, smelly two-stroke engines to quiet, powerful electric drive,

I believe this is how the story of these mopeds continues, not only as relics of days gone by, but as living symbols of the creativity and passion of their owners, who accompany and transform them day by day.

But what do you actually get delivered when you order a conversion kit from us? Firstly, there's the drive module here. It includes an electric motor, a brushless direct current motor, 4 kilowatts nominal power, roughly 5.5 horsepower. There's power electronics attached to it and self-developed electronics, which, among other things, detects the position of the throttle slide. So, the original carburetor cap is actually screwed on there. That's also a development of ours. And apart from the drive module, you also get this seat here, either smooth or quilted. And inside there is the battery, which can also be removed. That means, if you want to charge it, you simply remove the seat and can easily carry it into your apartment or house and recharge it at any normal household socket in a few hours. Yes, the seat provides a range of 50 km or 70 km, we also have two different variants. And these are actually realistic ranges that we have tested. You can even exceed them if you ride in the height of summer. Besides the seat, there is also a control unit included with each model, which varies a bit from model to model.
