Experience a nostalgic journey with us through the world of retro cars. In this video, we take a look at rare prototypes, classics, and an electrified Trabant.

The journey begins with a retrospective of the Trabant 610 prototype and the events of 1979. Discover why only two functional models have survived to this day and are exhibited at the August Horch Museum in Zwickau.

Another prototype, the Trabant 11e from 1988, is introduced. Designers Matthias Kaluza and Thomas Müller from the August Horch Förderverein share their perspectives on this intriguing project.

Egbert von Witzleben from the Stiftung Automuseum Wolfsburg presents the EA 276, a significant prototype on the path to the Volkswagen Golf. He explains the differences from the Volkswagen models of that time and why this prototype is a milestone.

The emotional journey continues with the Trabant NT prototype from Indica in 2008. Learn how modern technology meets the iconic Trabant design and the possibilities that were already emerging back then.

Various retro cars are showcased, including the ELSIST from 1974 to 1979, assembled by youths with limited resources. The Volga M21 and a 1932 Ford Model A, the oldest still road-legal car in the Retro Channel, make their appearances.

The focus turns to the unique shifting and steering mechanisms of older vehicles, with a Ford Model A navigating the streets with its charming yet somewhat slow driving style. An old-timer with a gearbox that requires patience but can still reach speeds of up to 90 km/h.

Another highlight is the transformation of a Trabant 600 into an electric vehicle. The interior of the electric Trabant is presented, highlighting the central electric control unit seamlessly connecting the old gasoline-powered car with modern electric technology.

In conclusion, glimpses of additional retro cars are provided, including a reliable companion from Werdau and a Tatra 603 with an impressive V8 engine in the rear.
