SHRIMP SINIGANG with SPINACH | SINIGANG NA HIPON | Shrimp in Tamarind Broth | Pinoy Simple Cooking

This dish is one of the famous soup in the Philippines The flavor of the shrimp compliments with the sourness of the broth adding the crunchiness of the vegetables. Packed with nutrients and so quick and easy to make and perfect for cold weather. Can be served as it is or with steames rice.

Sharing you another way to make Shrimp Sinigang / Sinigang na Hipon / Shrimp in Tamarind Broth

Shrimp Sinigang / Sinigang na Hipon / Shrimp in Tamarind Broth Recipe Pinoy Simple Cooking :
Ingredients:
1 lbs Shrimp, cleaned and deveined
8 cups of water
1 large tomatoes, quartered
1 large onions, quartered
8 oz green beans - cut in 2 in long
6 oz kra - ends trimmed
8 oz spinach or kangkong leaves
1 long green chili pepper
1 pack (40g) tamarind soup mix
3 to 4 tbsp fish sauce

Directions:
1. In a large pot, heat water over medium heat. Add salt and bring to boil..
2. Add tomatoes and onions. Cook for 2 mins
3. Add tamarind soup mix. Stir until tamarind soup mix is dissolved and well combined.
4. Add shrimp. Cook until turns pink.
5. Let it simmer for 2 mins
6. Add long beans and okra. Stir until well combined.
7. Cover with lid and let it cook for 5 mins.
8. Add whole long green chili pepper.
9. Add the spinach.
10. Turn off the heat.
11. Serve hot and Enjoy! Best served with steamed rice.
