Just what happened to the MCU we used to love. The internet has no shortage of theories, from lack of direction and star power, to the "MsheU."

Unfortunately, with so many voices in the mix, a large number of which aren't the ones we actually need, I feel the actual issues are quickly overlooked and ignored in favor of anger baiting and trendy titles. So what actually hampered the MCU, and why does it seem to be losing steam over the past few Phases?

The Simple answer, is character. Marvel Studios may have dominated the Film Industry through the past decade, but it was never because they were the best in the business. 85% of their movies hardly worth anything more than a fun popcorn flick for the family or friends to go spend a night on. But what they did have, was a wide cast of characters that people loved, and wanted to see the next leg of their story.

So today, we delve deep into the current failures of the MCU, and try to decode what they had right through their first three phases, and what exactly has been holding them back in Phases 4 and 5.
