Bharata
The 24th King of the Candra Wangsa Kingdom or Kandhawaprastha Kingdom was Bharata, the son of King Duswanta and Sakuntala. Sakuntala was the adopted daughter of Resi Kanwa, Sakuntala's biological parents were the nymph Menaka and Resi Vishvamitra. While King Duswanta was the son of King Iliana and Rathantari.
King Bharata is estimated to have ruled from 3730 to 3700 Before Common Era. Bharata married Sunandadewi or Sunanda, the daughter of Sarvasena or Sarwasena, the king of the Kasi Kingdom, from this marriage he had a son named Bumanyu. He conquered the Indian subcontinent, from the ocean to the Himalayas. His territory was known as Bharatawarsha, or Bharatakhanda or Bharatadesha or Bharata.
Bharatakhanda or Bharataksetra is the term for the inhabited world, continents and land as far as is known by Sanskrit poets. The Bharatakhanda region is a region of power directly controlled by King Bharata, this region is the birthplace of the Vedas, Mahabharata, Ramayana, and Purana. In modern times the Bharatakhanda region refers to the geographical area of ​​the countries of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. These countries are now mostly included in the South Asian countries.
