In this video, we will jump a bit far from the Candra Dynasty genealogy, because we will discuss the Kuru Dynasty genealogy, especially in the part that explains the Pandavas and Kurawas. We will start this genealogy, in the story of King Santanu, because the Mahabharata War problem occurred, due to an oath that occurred during the time of King Santanu.

Santanu
Santanu was the 41st King of the Hastinapura Kingdom, he was part of the Kuru Dynasty which was a branch of the Candra Dynasty. Santanu was the youngest son of King Pratipa and Sunanda. Queen Sunanda was the Princess of the Siwi Kingdom. King Pratipa and Sunanda had 3 sons, the eldest son was named Dewapi, and the second son was named Bahlika, and the youngest son was named Santanu. When his father was about to retire, Santanu's older brothers named Dewapi and Bahlika refused to inherit the throne. Dewapi—who had leprosy—decided to live as an ascetic in order to find peace.
