Video, time-lapse and stills of a successful trip down to Guyra from subtropical Brisbane in the hope of seeing rare non-alpine snow. We'd been looking forward to this event for a while and as the day arrived, we could lock this event in. I traveled south solo and reached Guyra early evening as showers of soft hail fell in the town. These dried up but gave other chasers time to come down in time to see the proper event start late that night. Guyra and the surrounding area turned into a white Winter wonderland and I had a great time exploring the next day as generally light snow continued to fall.
Snow events in Guyra are generally great for the town, as they bring snow chase tourists from all over, and provide soil moisture for what is currently a drought-hit area. I always enjoy my time there!
