Happy New Year!
It's been a little while since Episode 2 was uploaded, and a lot has been going on with the home renovations. This video shows pretty much where we have gotten to in the kitchen, and the current status of the laundry room. Lots of demolition, plaster removal, plaster patching, scraping of ugly wall textures, removing old paint and wallpaper, skim coating walls, priming, and painting. All in a good three to six months work on the weekends. The electric was also professionally overhauled throughout and brought up to modern code standards. I didn't really get any footage of that.

As of now, the goal for the house is to get all of the rooms functional as they are intended, painting them along the way, and also to beautify the yard, sheds, and exterior. Modern plumbing will be installed hopefully in the next few months (stay tuned!), and one by one the rooms will be restored to having smooth walls and colors that compliment the Victorian era qualities of the house. A 100% entire restoration is likely not the goal, but as time goes on and we find ourselves restoring more and more things, and removing 1960's-70's updates, there may be rooms (such as the living room and bedroom from Episode 1) that will receive more attention. For now, functionality is key!

Thanks for watching, we hope you enjoy and will consider subscribing if you haven't already! We'd like to connect with more of you who have worked on or lived in older homes. Leave a comment below if there's anything you'd like to see in the future. Having an old house that's been neglected for several decades lends to learning a lot of new skills to bring it back into shape - and of course that means there's a lot that we can upload as time goes on.
