Australian Aborigines consider children's dreams to be messages about the future, sent by the spirits. Ombee, a young Aborigine of the Kidja tribe, has dreamt of a crocodile. His time of initiation has come, and the elder, Jerry, will explain that he must challenge a crocodile to become a man.
Accompanied by his uncle, Ombee embarks on a long journey to learn how to survive in the bush and, ultimately, how to confront the crocodile... Noël teaches Ombee the gestures of their nomadic ancestors. Although most Aborigenes today are sedentary and live in villages, the simple gestures they pass down, keep their history alive.
