It all started when we visited the Detroit Boat Show earlier this year. We ran into Captain Steve Jones, who had a booth set up, advertising his charter services. After talking with the experienced captain, we decided to book a fishing charter with him.

We initially booked a salmon trip, and we were excited about that. Unfortunately, as Michigan weather goes, on the date our trip was scheduled, huge storms rolled. The charter captain offered other dates to squeeze in a salmon trip, but our work and kids' school schedules wouldn't allow for any of the open dates the captain had.

Fast forward about a month, and here we are heading out on the Fish Predator. Although we missed our Salmon window, we did luck out with beautiful weather, clear skies, and calm waters, to take the family out for smallmouth bass fishing, which turned out to be a pretty active day.

Now, I am not much of a fisherman myself, but my kids absolutely love it. So, we were happy to find them a Charter Captain that not only put us on the fish but showed us a few things along the way, too.

This was our first time out on the Predator charter boat, which is an absolutely beautiful boat. It is a fully equipped 31-foot Tiara Tournament Sportfish, with twin 454 inboard motors. It's large and spacious, offering a comfortable ride.

Although we really wanted to do a Salmon Charter trip, we are so grateful that the Captain put safety first and worked with us and our schedule to finally get us out on the water. We actually had a great time fishing these smallmouth bass, and it kept us active on this all-day charter.

We are already looking forward to the next charter with Capt. Steve Jones, when we head out again next month for some Muskie Fishing.

The memories we made today will last a lifetime. Thanks for coming along with us.
