You can avoid many crashes, but random things outside of your control can crash you. Stress can crash you. Exposure to mold, an accident, sensory overload outside your control (like construction noise), a virus, or having exertion you can't avoid... there are things you just can't control. The goal is to do your best to avoid it. It may not be possible.

Also, I did not mention it, but the most severe end of ME/CFS involves feeding tubes and bedpans or even catheters, lying in the dark with ear protectors on and no screens, only silence and dark. No ability to speak, or shower or brush teeth- it's living hell.
