A seaside restaurant and fishing platform in Bagan Sungai Burung, near Rungkup here, were damaged due to large waves during a storm today.

Bagan Datuk Civil Defence Force officer Mohd Fazly Mohamad Zawawi said they rushed to the scene after being alerted by members of the public at 9.45am. Fazly said there was heavy rain for over two hours starting from 4am.

He advised residents living near the coast to stay alert for unpredictable weather conditions.
