ingredient
4 chickens (550g) for samgyetang
Astragalus
4 or more ginseng roots
bank

Soaked glutinous rice
jujube
1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 tablespoon salt

how to make
1. Pour astragalus and jujube in plenty of water and boil for 20-30 minutes to make soup.
2. Wash the chicken thoroughly, soak in 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 tablespoon of salt for about 10 minutes, and rinse 2-3 times.
3. Wash the ginseng by gently scrubbing it with a toothbrush, then cut off the sprouting head.
4. Put a little oil in a frying pan and fry the ginkgo over low heat. When it turns blue, place it on a paper towel, rub it gently, and peel it.
5. Peel the chestnuts and soak them in cold water for a moment to prevent the color from changing.
6. Wash the glutinous rice and soak it for at least 5 hours in advance.
7. Put glutinous rice, 3-4 ginkgo nuts, jujubes, and chestnuts inside the chicken. Make a slit inside the chicken thigh to make an X and insert the other leg into the slit.
8. Place the chicken without taking out the astragalus and jujubes from the pot, boil over high heat for 20 minutes, add garlic and ginseng, and simmer over medium heat for 20 minutes and then over low heat for about 10 minutes. Serve on the table, season with salt, and enjoy.
