Building a table using repurposed materials can create challenges along the way. The project often gets built around the material, rather than the other way. The most time consuming aspect of this build was the jig used to hold the bat at the table saw. I needed to create a round tenon from a tapered shaft, and not having access to a lathe meant using the tools available. I suppose this could also have been accomplished with hand tools.

I built this table for a special young boy who loves baseball. His first number was 8. The bats were given to me by his older nephews who were also in love with the sport.
