On remembrance day, the Southern Downs Steam Railway ran a small train to Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt region. Upon arrival, passengers then visited several wineries and enjoyed lunch before reboarding the train in the afternoon for the return journey back to Warwick.

During the several hours layover in Stanthorpe, I took the time to inspect the devastating bush fire damage that occurred on October 31st 2023. 4 timber bridges were totally destroyed and it will take some time before trains can be seen running to Wallangarra again.
