On Saturday 18th May 2024, DownsSteam's dream of operating a tourist railway for the people of Toowoomba and the Darling Downs was finally realised.

It had taken almost 25 years from inception, but it was at last time for the first passengers to take their seats on board the inaugural journey from Drayton to Wyreema and return, hauled by steam locomotive C16 106 the "Pride of Toowoomba"
