The song, "Ulysses" was written by Whil Harlin. Whil began writing the song in the late 1980s, while still in the band HARLIN. The verses were completed at that time with a different chorus. The chorus was eventually changed to the one presented here, not long before this show happened.

The show that evening would be the last performance of JACK THE MUSIC with Whil Harlin in the band, and would feature guest guitarist/vocalist Kip McClellan.
