SAMBISARI TEMPLE, AN NEARLY COMPLETE MANDALA

In 1906 Mount Merapi raged violently, destroying various historical relics in the affected areas. One of them is Sambisari Temple. This temple appeared and was discovered by accident, although it almost provoked various acts of artifact theft. After undergoing restoration for 20 years, this temple reveals its stunning form, complete with its mandala.
Sambisari Temple is only a handful of temples that are still quite complete. Statues, fences and some artifacts were found in the vicinity. However, architecturally, Sambisari Temple has its own uniqueness compared to other temples. He is believed to be the dwelling place of Lord Shiva.

It turns out that there are many unique facts about Indonesian history that deserve our attention, of course, from a new perspective.
