Sel Roti Recipe || Traditional Nepalese Sweet and Crispy Bread

Ingredients

1. Rice - 6 cup (I used Jasmine rice)
2. Ghee /clarified butter - 1/2 cup
3. Sugar - 1/2 cup ( add sugar according to your taste)
4. Water - 400ml approx
5. Clarified butter /oil to fry

Methods

1. Wash the rice and let it soak overnight .
2. Next day, drain all the water from the rice .
3. In a blender put 3 to 4 scoop of rice , 1 tbsp clarified butter, 1 tbsp sugar and around 4 tbsp of water and grind it until its a coarse paste (don't make the batter runny it should be thick coarse batter )
4. Follow the step for the rest of the rice .
5. After that, beat the batter properly so that the batter is light and fluffy .

Method of Cooking

1. In a frying pan pour oil/clarified butter .
2. Heat the oil on a high flame (flame should be on a high heat throughout your cooking time )
3. Put the batter in a bowl and add a little bit of water ,mix it well. At this point the batter should be in a pourable consistency (always add water little by little). Take a funnel and fill it with the batter we made earlier.
4. Now pour carefully making a circle as you see in the video.
5. Cook it about 20-30 sec or until its golden brown (it depend on how big your burner is )
6. Flip it and cook the other side .
7. Repeat the process.
