On my way back from Antigonish last Friday I ran into Bradley: A guy from Alberta who two years ago sold his company, gave everything he owned to his wife and, following a life-changing spiritual experience, went on a journey without destination (important: He did that in accordance with his wife and children!). Bradley's only possessions: a sleeping bag, a tarp, a 2nd set of clothes....and that's pretty much it. The journey he refers to it as "pilgrimage" took him across pretty much all over North America. He travels without money. Yet he's no beggar as he trusts that he'll be given what he needs. He wants to convince no one. Yet he's one most convincing guys I ever met. Corona makes many of us face our fears: to lose our jobs, houses, retirement accounts. Bradley gave away all of that - just to find total peace of mind.

He stayed with us Friday afternoon until Monday morning when I dropped him down at Trans Canada Hwy 4 to continue his journey: Farewell, brother! "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And until we meet again: May God hold you in the hollow of His hand" (Irish poem).

At Burns Lodge we're working to create a place where (literally!) personal "Re-Creation" is possible....where deep and meaningful exchange can happen between people who care: About themselves, about other people, about our communities, about this planet that's so obviously gotten out of sync. This is why having met Bradley was very special for all three of us: Uta, me and I guess him too.
