Sometimes we find treasures that aren't made of gold. I was lucky enough to find a flawless glass insulator from a downed power line. Watch me build a stand and use it as a candle holder.

Over the years, I have scavenged a few leaf springs from angry back roads. The leaf springs are old, because they look like they were cut with a torch. I use a couple of them, along with a fast moving section of pipe, to build a stand. This is a simple project, but the hardened steel and the rust create a few obstacles to overcome. This build is a perfect example of why I rarely sketch my projects, as they tend to evolve during the process. UPDATE: I learned the hard way that these insulators are not able to handle the heat from a votive candle. Only use tea light candles to prevent the glass from fracturing. Doh!

Remember that working with tools can be dangerous. This video is inspirational in intent. Since I'm not there to hold your hand, be careful and remember you are responsible for your own safety.
