I tried four different methods to deep fry potatoes at home, without a deep fryer. A while back (ok a LONG while back) I tried to make some tofu fish and chips, and I could NOT get anything to fry!!! It was so frustrating, so I did some googling, found four methods recommended, and tried them out so y'all don't have to have a frustrating time in the kitchen like I did! The methods I tried were:
1) air fryer
2) pot on stove w/ hella oil
3) oven w/ hella oil
4) pan on stove, minimum oil
If you want to skip the video, lol, bad PR over here, the winners were:
Method #2: pot on stove w/ hella oil. It was the easiest in terms of maintenance and allowed for the most volume of "things" to be fried. (In this case, potatoes! yum!
Method #1: was dope as well, required WAY less oil, but depending on the size of your air fryer, it may require doing a lot of different batches.
And the non-winners ("losers" is too harsh lol):
Method #3: worked as well, but ya girl just kept on burning the fries haha.
Method #4: did not work!!!! I mean, there was a bit of a crisp / crunch, buttttttt they were just not what I wanted at all.
