Come and explore Miami’s Art Deco District with me.

I grew up in an Art Deco home in Devon so I’m fascinated by the architecture.

There are so many beautiful buildings that encompass all things Art Deco, geometric shapes and patterns, some with curved exteriors and windows and some more symmetrical in their build. On Ocean Drive you’ll find neon signs adorning tall columns on the buildings, almost making them resemble a ship.

Essex House Hotel is a perfect place to start and talking of having a nautical theme it has many circular porthole style windows.

The Miami Design Preservation League are to thank for rescuing many of these buildings from demolition in the 70s. They offer walking tours of these beautiful buildings which you can book here https://mdpl.org/tours/

You can also tour the area and other hot spots in Miami such as Little Havana and Wynwood in a vintage classic car but book in advance because they get booked up super quickly! https://www.americandreamtourmiami.com/

We took a boat tour from opposite the Eden Roc hotel all around the gorgeous river front houses including Millionnaires Row and the private islands. It was soooo much fun and if you’re interested in real estate and seeing Miami from the water then this is well worth a trip. We stayed at the Gale Hotel which we loved and highly recommend! Located on Collins Avenue it’s easy to walk to the beach, along the boardwalk to different beach bars and down the road to Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road. There’s a great Italian restaurant called Dolce downstairs where we always ate breakfast and had dinner one night. Plus there’s a roof top pool.
