Kedah's Sik district is experiencing a cold wave, with temperatures dropping as low as 19 degrees Celsius in several areas.
Residents were forced to wear thicker clothing and sweaters as they headed out and some said this is the lowest temperature they have ever experienced.
Resident Zaini Abu Bakar, 38, said his family's morning routine had been disrupted by the cold spell for the past few days.
Zaini, who works as a rubber tapper, believes that a cold weather means the dry season is just around the corner.
Resident Nurul Asma Ghazali, 35, said she had to prepare hot water for her five-year-old son to shower before being sent to kindergarten.
Meanwhile, Kedah MetMalaysia director, Muhammad Khalil Abdul Aziz said chilly conditions are normal in this district when the state is in the second phase of the Northeast Monsoon.
