The CACCIA project has focused on the development of bean, sorghum and sweet potato varieties, seeking to develop their fundamental properties of broad adaptation and yield stability; given the importance of these crops at the regional level for small farmers. Collaborative work is promoted between regional national agricultural research institutes, to manage at the local level, the genetic improvement of crops such as sorghum, with a strong focus on participatory research in favor of communities.
