A: 诶，你周末都做些什么呀？
Ei, nǐ zhōu mò dōu zuò xiē shén me ya?
So, what did you do on the weekend?

这周末累死了。这周五我和我喜欢的男生一起去电影院看了电影。
Zhè zhōu mò lèi sǐ le. Zhè zhōu wǔ wǒ hé wǒ xǐ huān de nán shēng yī qǐ qù diàn yǐng yuàn kàn le diàn yǐng.
This weekend it was exhausting. On Friday I went to the cinema and watched a movie with my crush..

我们看了一部爱情片，挺不错的。然后他请我吃了冰淇凌。
Wǒ men kàn le yī bù ài qíng piàn, tǐng bù cuò de. Rán hòu tā qǐng wǒ chī le bīng qí líng.
We watched a romantic movie, it was not bad. After that he invited me for ice cream.

周六我去了家庭聚会，是我叔叔的生日。
Zhōu liù wǒ qù le jiā tíng jù huì, shì wǒ shū shu de shēng rì. Then on Saturday I was at a very big family event, it was the birthday of my uncle.

我和好多亲戚聊天聊了一晚上。
Wǒ hé hǎo duō qīn qi liáo tiān liáo le yī wǎn shàng.
I talked the whole evening with so many relatives.

周日我睡了一整天，实在太累了。
Zhōu rì wǒ shuì le yī zhěng tiān, shí zài tài lèi le.
On Sunday I slept the whole day, because I was so exhausted.

A: 你为什么这么累啊？
Nǐ wèi shén me zhè me lèi a?
Why were you so exhausted?

B: 因为我家亲戚很多，每个人都问了我好多问题。
Yīn wèi wǒ jiā qīn qi hěn duō, měi gè rén dōu wèn le wǒ hǎo duō wèn tí.
Because I have a huge family (many relatives) and everyone asked me lots of questions.

你家有多少亲戚？
nǐ jiā yǒu duō shǎo qīn qi?
A: How many people does your family have?

B: 大概三十个。
dà gài sān shí gè.
Around 30 people

A: 啊？真是个大家庭啊。
á? Zhēn shì gè dà jiā tíng a.
What? Such a big family.

B: 嗯，有我爸和我妈，还有我妹妹和哥哥，还有六个叔叔和阿姨，他们都有自己的孩子。
En, yǒu wǒ bà hé wǒ mā, hái yǒu wǒ mèi mei hé gē ge, hái yǒu liù ge shū shu hé ā yí, tā men dōu yǒu zì jǐ de hái zi.
Yes, there is my dad and mom. Then I have one younger sister and one older brother.
I have six uncles and aunts and they also all have kids.

我有13个表亲和堂亲，哦不是，14个。。。然后我们还有三条狗。。。
Wǒ yǒu shí sān gè biǎo qīn hé táng qīn, o bù shì, shí sì gè…rán hòu wǒ men hái yǒu sān tiáo gǒu.
I have 13 cousins…. no, 14 cousins. And we also have 3 dogs.

A: 真有意思。我家很小，我有个弟弟和两个表亲。我只有一个叔叔和阿姨。我们也没有狗。
Zhēn yǒu yì si. wǒ jiā hěn xiǎo, wǒ yǒu gè dì di hé liǎng gè biǎo qīn. wǒ zhǐ yǒu yī gè shū shu hé ā yí. wǒ men yě méi yǒu gǒu.
That’s interesting. I have a very small family. I have a younger brother and two cousins. Only one uncle and one aunt. And zero dogs.
你和你们家亲戚关系亲近吗？
nǐ hé nǐ men jiā qīn qi guān xi jìn ma?
Are you close to all of your family members?

B: 有些很好，有些就一般。
Yǒu xiē hěn hǎo, yǒu xiē jiù yī bān.
Some of them I know very well, some of them not so much.

我小时候经常和我的表妹和堂哥一起玩。你呢？
Wǒ xiǎo shí hou jīng cháng hé wǒ de biǎo mèi hé táng gē yī qǐ wán. nǐ ne?
When I was a kid, I always hung out a lot with my cousins.
And you?

A: 我和亲戚关系都不错，因为我家很小。
wǒ hé qīn qi guān xi dōu bù cuò, yīn wèi wǒ jiā hěn xiǎo.
I know them very well (I am close to them) . Because my family is small.

每年我们都要和叔叔阿姨一起去度假。我们一年也要见个好几次。
Měi nián wǒ men dōu yào hé shū shu ā yí yī qǐ qù dù jià. wǒ men yī nián yě yào jiàn ge hǎo jǐ cì.
Every year we went on vacation with my uncle and aunt. I see them a few times each year.

那你这次家庭聚会，为什么每个人都问你那么多问题啊？
nà nǐ zhè cì jiā tíng jù huì, wèi shén me měi gè rén dōu wèn nǐ nà me duō wèn tí a?
Soo, back to your family event, why did everyone ask you so many questions?

B: 因为我就跟一个人说了周五的约会，结果所有人都来问我。。。他叫什么名字啊？他是哪里人啊？他几岁啊？
Yīn wèi wǒ jiù gēn yī gè rén shuō le zhōu wǔ de yuē huì, jié guǒ suǒ yǒu rén dōu lái wèn wǒ…tā jiào shén me míng zì a? tā shì nǎ lǐ rén a? tā jǐ suì a?
Because I only told ONE person about my date on Friday. And then they all came to ask me questions. “What is his name?” “Where is he from?” “How old is he?”

然后每个人都问一遍，累死我了。。。你能想象吗？
Rán hòu měi gè rén dōu wèn yī biàn, lèi sǐ wǒ le…nǐ néng xiǎng xiàng mā?
And then every person asked this. I was very tired in the end. Can you imagine?

A: 幸亏你提起了这件事，我都忘了问你！
Xìng kuī nǐ tí qǐ le zhè jiàn shì, wǒ dōu wàng le wèn nǐ!
Oh good that you say that! I completely forget to ask!!
