Creating habitat diversity on the forest edge. Encouraging forage for deer and other wildlife. Encouraging plants in the forest that produce blossoms for pollinators. I am using a Stihl MS 462 chainsaw to cut brush and thin trees that are shading the forest understory. Thinning the trees will leave more water and resources for the remaining trees. This is the first phase in encouraging herbaceous plants to take the place and help control woody brush including poison oak.
