Choosing the right log lengths for your situation can help optimize a lot of things. Not only that, it can make things just better. It will help you jump higher, run faster and excel it just about everything. Actually it won’t do those things. But it can help you optimize your logs to get the most out of them and can be helpful to your forest activities. I will tell you how I choose the log lengths I do for both selling to commercial lumber or peeler mills or for milling myself on my Woodmizer LT 15 sawmill. The chainsaw I am using is a Stihl MS 462 with 32 inch bar. The tractor is a Massey Ferguson MF 30 MF 34 with a Farmi 501 tractor logging winch.
