Key challenges in Implementing Offer and Order Management: Insights from Radu Iliescu, Director of Digital Solutions & Consulting at Branchspace.

In a recent webinar hosted by The International Air Transport Association (IATA), Radu Iliescu, Director of Digital Solutions & Consulting at Branchspace, outlined 2 key challenges facing the implementation of offer and order management in the airline industry:

• Immaturity of Current Solutions and Standards: Existing technologies and industry standards are incomplete, leaving crucial aspects of future products and processes undefined. From Interline NDC to the relationship between offer and order management, significant gaps persist, complicating the adoption process for airlines.

• Technical Complexity of Transition: Transitioning from legacy systems to offer and order management poses significant technical challenges. He emphasized the impracticality of a "Big Bang" migration, citing the need for a lengthy coexistence period between old and new ecosystems. This coexistence introduces a host of technical challenges, from data synchronization between parallel systems to managing inventory transitions, requiring careful navigation to ensure a smooth transition.

As airlines navigate this journey towards offer and order management, Radu's insights provide valuable guidance for industry stakeholders grappling with the intricacies of this transformation.
