It is possible to make a copy of the handle, but I have never come across such a large Saffiano leather texture on sale. I suggested that the client restore what he had, fortunately it would be reliable.
The main idea is to ensure that the frail outer layer is no longer subject to stress. Conclusion - the lower new layer must take the load.
We clean the leather, disassemble the handle, rip it apart. Glue it together and install 1mm thick leather reinforcement. We reinforce it with doublerin or non-woven fabric, and glue in the original tarpaulin tape that was there.
Now outside. We build up new leather, texture, select a shade of black and paint it. We assemble the product along the old seams, restore the edge and apply new paint. Screw the handle into place.
