Restoration of leather handles and restoration of the pattern on the canvas of a Louis Vuitton bag.
The handles were worn out, the paint was worn off and the leather was peeling off. I removed the handles and cleaned them of dirt, grease, and toxins. After this, the leather was ready for restoration. Having chosen the color to match the original, I painted them again using the factory technology. After selecting the color of the thread, I restored the seam along the old holes.
On the canvas, the client had the following request - the paint on the corners of the bag was erased and there was a mark from a ballpoint pen on the front. The client tried to eliminate this trace on his own, but it only got worse. But a layer of mesh was exposed, which indicates that the design was applied using the “wet transfer” method. An interesting discovery.
I eliminated the handle and then started painting the bag in 3 colors.
The final drawing is visible in the video.
Next, I sewed the handles onto the finished canvas using a double contrasting stitch.
