Old Factory destroyed in 4 alarm fire in Allentown, PA.

At 18:15 Allentown transmitted box 2554 for the 400 block of Franklin Street near Warren for a building fire sending Engines 4, 9, 10, Truck 2, Engine 6 (F.A.S.T.) and Battalion 43 (Williams).

On arrival, Battalion 43 immediately struck a 2nd alarm and requested two ladders from the county. Williams had heavy smoke and fire showing from the 4 to 5 story old factory.

The second alarm sends out Engines 11 and 14. With the 3rd alarm struck, Engine 13 was due.

The ladders from the county were Whitehall's Tower 6 (LC3631), Western Salisbury Ladder 31 and Catasaqua Ladder 2. Greenawalds Engine 11 responded and supplied Whitehall's 95' Baker Aerial Scope.

A collapse zone was established shortly after arriving and numerous deck guns placed in service.

The fire burned throughout the night into Monday.
