Our second fight should have been Talos (a drum spinner) but they were unfortunately too beat up and had to forfeit, so we moved on to the next round where we faced Inferno, another drum spinner. For drum spinners, I used my "shoulder pads + 1 long fork" config, hoping to get the fork under the drum and take control. This strategy immediately failed, as he was easily able to hit me, tore up the fork, and got me up against the wall in about two seconds.

He knocked me back down though so we could keep fighting, and I have to say I think this was some of my best inverted driving. I'm wondering if when I had the broken fork poking into his wheelguard, it was actually making contact with and locking the wheel in place. I'm also happy with Angore's durability, we were taking hits the whole fight and he kept working. I think the new wheelguards helped a lot here; I was worried they'd be too thin to achieve much but they managed to take a couple bites and, crucially, protected the wheels and motors.

Now, probably my least favorite bit of this fight was that the judges gave it to me? At the time I was totally bewildered, like had they even seen the fight? Watching it back, I mean yeah I was doing a pretty good job on control, but also I was upside down the whole time and he ripped my nose off, so I'm still not quite sure what they were seeing. Should have asked to look at the scorecards, but didn't think of it at the time. Also, since he was nice enough to get me unstuck back at the start there, I hate to see that kind of thing get punished.
