Malang City is not only famous as a cool city as well as a famous tourist destination in East Java. Malang is also famous for its classical history, namely as a trace of the Kanjuruhan and Singhasari/Tumapel kingdoms. The city of Malang, which is located at an altitude of between 440-667 meters, apparently holds many classical sites related to these two kingdoms.


Some of the sites are still being cared for by local residents, others are no longer in shape. These sites are attached to the myths that were created later, which actually strengthen their identity as relics of the classical era. For example, the myth of Dedes and Joko Lulo at Sumur Windu, although not historical fact, provides a strong basis for the public that this site is related to the classical period.
