I got the idea for this turning from a Tom Lohman photo on the AAW web page.. He calls it High Seas. It was my first attempt at it and I think it came out ok. I used the picture to design mine similar to his. It was a pretty tricky glue up but a simple turning. I have my own design in the works now and will do it pretty soon.
I had one piece of Mahogany that looked the same as the other 3 but once I cut the surface it was not light like the rest of them. It was already glued in place and I kept hoping that the dark area not go all the way through. But it did. Well that is nature there and I am ok with it.


I finished it with:
Deft spray lacquer
Acks Abrasive Paste
Ack Polish/Restoring Paste
