So picture this... Kenta, the dude I met in Derry, Ireland that was there for Halloween... he lives in Osaka, but he came all the way to Tokyo and we hung out for a day. I think he said he was there to meet up with some foreign girl that he was talking to online, spanish? Like, he spoke some spanish...

Anyway... so we walked around. I got some soju drink and was walking around drinking it and I realized that there was no trashcans except in front of stores. Like... I found out later that it is rude to walk around and eat and drink. I didn't know that. I was always walking around with an alcoholic drink also.

I think we met up near the Tokyo tower, and we got some noodle soups at some place close to the train station. I think he ordered one that was like cold soba noodles in soup and his soup had ice cubes in it. I think I took a picture but it was too dark to see properly so I deleted it.

We walked around the Imperial Palace or something... passed out in the grass for a bit, I was tired from drinking all the time, and he was tired from meeting up with some spanish chick... then there was like hundreds of chinese tourists jumping in and out of buses and too noisy so we left... it was getting dark... and we stopped in to some random Izakaya and they had a ton of random food. I think the purple squid was raw and mixed with squid eggs and that is why it was gooey? I think that was explanation...

Holy crap I was in heaven. I got to try all kinds of weird small dishes that I have never heard of and get drunk! I loved it! Izakayas are great. Each one a small mystery with small dishes to be picked at that don't fill you up, and you can talk and drink. Perfect. I don't know how normal it was for people but I would be doing this every day after work. I don't know what is normal except edamame and beer... but this was awesome. I was inspired to start my own restaurant based off the same model. Small dishes, good beer and drinks, and no TVs. I never ended up doing that.

Oh, I make an appearance in this video also. Ok. I know I could stand to lose some weight,... I think I puff up more when I am drinking a lot and lately I have been drinking a lot... but I can lose the weight any time I want. Maybe over this summer.

Kenta is allergic to alcohol so he gets drunk off one beer. I feel kinda gay taking his glasses, but the other guy from Oktoberfest took my hat... so I thought it was appropriate. Ehh... I shouldn't have pressured him into drinking... such a shame he can't drink... I feel like intoxicants are something everyone should try but never fall in love with.

It was good seeing him.... mostly because he helped me order awesome food. If I could have, I would have just gone Izakaya hopping every day if I had someone to order for me. Damn Kenta for going home so early...

I went back to the hostel. The bar on the corner had a bunch of people, and I drank a bit there before heading back to the hostel. The guy that made the mushrooms from the other day had made more stuff to share with people. I think I was a bit drunk and getting annoying with my camera. I think I went a tiny bit too far (I mean... you can see all the footage I have... I don't edit much out) and one guy seemed like he was annoyed that I was shooting any video when I think we were joking about getting a reaction shot of the food. He got annoyed and I was like "What are you going to do about it?" I kinda wanted to fight someone. I got annoyed when he insulted me for recording too much. Like, what the hell does he care? Not like we are ever going to see each other again. Gonna come over and stop me from getting like two seconds of video you dork? I'd slap the hell out of him.

I think I was annoyed by a lot of things going on. Like.... there was talk about going to see Matsuri and I had to rely on someone to tell me when it is, and they weren't sure if they were going, ok... so I gotta find someone else that knows where and when. I think that really annoys me when someone can't make plans when I am traveling and I want to see things... especially with my stupid little video camera... I want to see things. Not some dopey looking Australian or New Zealand guy getting mad that I am recording him because there is nothing else going on and I wanted an honest reaction about the food.

Oh whatever.
