We are coloring our Easter eggs using only natural ingredients (fruit, vegetables, and spices).

Beets | Pink ( 1 beet )
Turmeric | Yellow (2 tbsp)
Blueberries | Purple/Blue (1 cup) I use frozen
Purple Cabbage | Blue (1/2 of a small head)
Blueberries + Turmeric | Green (1 part of each)
Yellow Onion Skins | Orange (skin from 4 onions)

Using small pots add the main ingredient, plus vinegar and salt, and enough water to fill the small pot. Boil for about 15 minutes. In the meantime boil your eggs. Once they're both ready, remove food contents from the pots, add the hot eggs into the hot liquid and wait. For light/pastel colors, remove in about 10 - 15 minutes. If you want deep, bold colors, wait a few hours or soak overnight. For nice green tones, mix the blueberry (or cabbage) liquid with the turmeric liquid (Blue + Yellow = Green) :). This very fun for the kids and is a mini science experiment.
