Hi guys!, Today we are in the kitchen cooking up a Boss OILDOWN!.

What is Oildown?

Oil down is the national dish of the tri-island state; Grenada Carriacou and Petite Martinique ,which happens to me my homeland. It is one pot "cook down" typically comprised of breadfruit, salted meat, chicken, dumplings, callaloo, and other vegetables stewed in coconut milk, tumeric and other seasonings . The name refers to the fact that the oil from the coconut milk used in cooking is either absorbed by the ingredients or settles to the bottom of the cooking pot.

Ingredients:
Variation of bone In meat (i used chicken & salted pigtails)
breadfruit
green banana
corn
carrot
seasonings (onion ,pepper,chive,thyme)
salt
callaloo
okra
coconut (i used both canned and fresh)
raw tumeric & tumeric powder
flour
