►Enneagram Type 5s want to possess knowledge, to understand the environment, to have everything figured out as a way of defending the self from threats from the environment. The Type 5 goes towards the Type 8 when they are on their Growth Path. Type 5s Direction of Growth represents the behaviors that they exude when they are experiencing growth. 5s when moving in their Growth Path, avaricious, detached 5s become more self-confident and decisive, like healthy 8s.
