Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways

In this video we have a theme of Bulleid Pacific as we get 2 Saphos Trains workings of Locomotive Services Group's rebuilt West Country Bulleid Pacific 34046 Braunton.

We start on The Welsh Marches route between Shrewsbury & Hereford as we see him do The Welsh Marches Express from Bristol Temple Meads to Shrewsbury & return.

The loco was carrying a wreath on his smokebox as LSL payed tribute to Craig Potter a much loved East Lancs Railway driver & support crew member for West Coast Railways which his funeral took place on the day of Braunton's was running.

We payed our respects to Craig Potter at the viewing balcony having pint at Ludlow Brewery as we see the bulleid whistle by as he heads north.

For the return run we see the bulleid pass by the sight of the old station at Dorrington just south of Shrewsbury.

A few days later we catch up with the bulleid on the WCML between Warrington BQ & Carlisle as we were in race mode on this day.

Originally on this day it was supposed to have been fellow LSL loco BR Standard Class 7 pacific 70000 Britannia sadly however she was deemed not fit to work the train after failing on her test run 2 days prior. (But that's another story).

So 34046 Braunton who only just returned home to Crewe 5A from Bristol a few days prior stepped in.

We start on the Saturday at Warrington Bank Quay as we see 34046 head north with support coach to Preston.

We overtook Braunton just south of Leyland we gave us the chance to see Braunton roll in at the old parcels bay to take on water from a road tanker which gave us the opportunity to have a look at the bulleid in some detail.

We headed north to see Braunton working Saphos Trains's The Lakelander steam hauled from Preston to Carlisle & back to Carnforth outward via Shap & back along The Cumbrian Coast.

Lancaster was originally planned but we would have been blanked out by a Euston bound service so we opted for Oxenholme Lake District instead which was a rerun film shot of the ill fated 2022 shot our current camcorder's predecessor lost focus on that day.

Here we see the bulleid head north with The Lakelander trip after taking over from 47712 Lady Diana Spencer which brought the train from Nottingham earlier that morning.

We overtake the bulleid again at Grayrigg while 34046 took on water as we head to Penrith to see Braunton whistle by.

We then headed to Carlisle to see 47828 arrive with the bulleid & the stock after servicing at LSL's northern depot at Carlisle Upperby ready for the return run along the Cumbrian Coast.

We see Braunton off before we finish at Arnside Station in the early evening sun to end our race again 34046 Braunton.

OH WAIT HANG ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We have bonus footage for you all.

In between seeing 34046 Braunton we headed back to Bradnop on The Churnet Valley Railway for a rerun shot of resident S160 6046 but this time in much cooler conditions & with 7 coaches in tow with no diesel on the rear.

Originally it should have been visitor BR Standard 4 4-6-0 75014 Braveheart however he didn't run as road transport arrived on the day of our visit to take 75014 back home to The Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway after his 3 month visit came to an end.

However we didn't mind to much as we see 6046 climb up the bank to Ipstone as we end this video.

Thanks for reading enjoy the film.
