The second round of the NBA Playoffs have wrapped up with the Indiana Pacers defeating the New York Knicks in game 7 to move on to face the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals, and the Minnesota Timberwolves taking down the reigning NBA Champion Denver Nuggets in game 7 on the road to advance to the Western Conference Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. It's a completely unexpected group of four to round out the NBA season as the parity in the NBA has never been higher. For the Timberwolves, this path to the WCF has not been easy and there's been a lot of doubt along the way. Anthony Edwards was doubted from day one in the league, Karl-Anthony Towns was questioned as to whether or not he could be a top contributor on a title level team, Rudy Gobert was called a playoff dropper and the trade to acquire him was called one of the worst in NBA history, with the team as a whole being called a fake contender and a first round exit by many. Despite all this, they have taken down Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and the Phoenix Suns as well as Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and the Denver Nuggets.
