Recipe:
Ingredients:

Water: 500 ml (lukewarm)
Flour: 5 cups (500-600 g, preferably bread flour)
Sugar: 1 tablespoon (about 12 g)
Salt: 1 teaspoon (about 5-6 g)
Oil: 30 ml (2 tablespoons, preferably olive oil)
Yeast: 14 grams (2 packets of instant yeast or active dry yeast)
Instructions:

Activate the Yeast:

Start by combining lukewarm water with sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Sprinkle the yeast over the water, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This step ensures that your yeast is active and ready to help your bread rise.
Mix Dry Ingredients:

In another large bowl, mix the flour and salt. Make sure the salt is evenly distributed throughout the flour.
Combine and Mix:

Slowly add the flour mixture to the yeast mixture, stirring continuously until the dough begins to come together.
Add the oil and mix until it is fully incorporated into the dough.
Knead the Dough:

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8-10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic. This step is crucial for developing the gluten in the flour, which gives the bread its structure.
First Rise:

Place the kneaded dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
Shape the Loaves:

After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
Shape each portion into a loaf by flattening the dough and then rolling it tightly. Place each loaf into a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Second Rise:

Cover the shaped loaves with a damp cloth and let them rise again for 30-45 minutes, or until they have doubled in size.
Bake the Bread:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Bake the loaves in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
Cool and Enjoy:

Once baked, remove the loaves from the oven and allow them to cool on a wire rack. Let them cool completely before slicing for the best texture.
Tips:

Make sure your water is lukewarm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.
If your kitchen is cold, let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free area, like inside your oven with just the light on.
For a softer crust, brush the tops of the loaves with melted butter right after baking.
